Persimmon-Orange Smoothie
The best part about winter fruits is the bright orange colors! Add in a pinch of cinnamon and some zesty ginger and it’s just what we need to liven up the dark mornings. This recipe can easily be doubled, or tripled, or quadrupled, depending on how many you are serving. Just be sure to toss the persimmons (and peeled bananas, if desired) into the freezer the night before.
Makes 1 large smoothie

Persimmon-Orange Smoothie
- 1 cup non-dairy milk
- 1 Hachiya Persimmon, frozen, stem removed
- 1/2 Banana (see note 1)
- 1 Small orange, peel and seeds removed
- Pinch Cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp Ground ginger
-
Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
Note 1: If you like a thicker smoothie, remove the banana from the peel and freeze it ahead of time. Alternatively, add ice to desired consistency.
Note 2: If you prefer your smoothie a bit sweeter, add 1 pitted date or 1 TB maple syrup.
